Elia Mrak

Biography

Elia is a researcher who is passionate about the power of dance as a performative as well as a healing art.

He teaches, directs and performs as if he were telling a story.

For the past 10 years he has been performing, teaching and researching movement.

His practice combines dance, Qi-gong and somatic practices.

He danced and thought in Europe, Central and South America and the United States.

He graduated at Pomona College in 2006 with a BA in Mathematics and Economics.

He received the prestigious Watson Fellowship for his research in dance and movement.

During his time in Europe, he worked as David Zambrano's assistant and performer of the techniques of Flying Low and Passing Through.

Since 2009, he has been collaborating with the Argentine dancer Martin Piliponsky. They have both been teaching and performing in the United States and Argentina.

In 2018 he founded his organization, amovementmovement ®.
