On the occasion of the new edition of the Lights of India Festival and the opening of the Sonora in Flora Festival
will take place at 9 p.m. a grand concert by renowned Indian bansuri flute player
Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, an ambassador to the world of the excellence of Indian music.
Chaurasia will be accompanied by Debopriya Chatterjee (bansuri), Nicolò Melocchi (bansuri) and Suranjana Das (tabla).
Master Chaurasia will be a guest at the Palazzo Caprioli Association to conduct a six-day, July 2-7 bansuri flute workshop. The Workshop will be held with 2-hour morning lessons taught by the master following the traditional Indian learning style, through listening and repetition of typical phrases and improvisations based on the classical Raga repertoire of Hindustani music. In the afternoon, it will be possible to continue the practice with the help of Debopriya Chatterjee, best female exponent of the instrument and disciple of the master, who will guide participants with technical exercises and private lessons.
