Gilsamara is an artist and consultant for cultural projects with a PhD in Communication and Semiotics. She researches dance public policy.
She was invited to IMPULSTANZ, Vienna Danse Festival (2012-2014).
Founding member of the Association of Dance Researchers (ANDA), dance professor at the Federal University of Bahia.
She is currently a postdoctoral student at Université Côte d’Azur (CTEL-LASH). She is part of Groupe de Recherches "ÁGORA: modos de ser emDança" and she is responsible for the project "DialoguesMétis - cognitive and political processes in the creation of emans".
Visiting Professor at the University of Arts / Laica Eloy Alfaro University (Ecuador) and National University of Assumption (Paraguay). Coordinator of the Festival Internacional de Dança de Araraquara / SP / Brazil.
Gilsamara is co-founder and co-director of the ORIzzonatle International Dance Festival, whose first edition took place at Palazzo Caprioli in 2019.
